Grants Manager

Position Purpose:
Working closely with a team of four, the Grants Manager will be responsible for the administration of the Foundation’s grants.

Reports to:
The Grants Manager reports to the Director of Grants Management.

Essential Functions:
•    Manage day-to-day grants process for a variety of MCF funds including but not limited to matching gifts programs for staff and Board members, competitive and Donor Advised Funds, to ensure accuracy of grant information and legal compliance, including import, review, due diligence, award, letters, agreements, payment tracking, reporting, and close out, in a timely manner.
•    Communicate with staff, grantees, international grantmaking consultants, and donors (when appropriate) regarding grants and grants processing as needed; field questions and address issues as they arise. 
•    Maintain familiarity with IRS rules and regulations, as they pertain to the grantmaking process; attend department trainings when necessary.
•    Provide data reporting and analysis for internal and external audiences.
•    Maintain and improve grant documentation (i.e., forms, protocols, and workflows) and grantee information (organizational, contact and electronic payment information).
•    Collaborate with Information Technology team on system maintenance, including identifying and documenting problems, defining requirements for new protocols, and testing new procedures. Function as a resource person for the grants function of MCF systems.
•    Build and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues across the Foundation to address grant-related issues and manage the lifecycle of competitive and non-competitive grants.
•    Perform additional responsibilities as delegated.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
•    BA/BS degree preferred or AA degree in a related field of study and three years of additional work experience as described in the essential functions of the job description.
•    Five years of recent and related experience, preferably in the non-profit sector.
•    Systems thinker who is adept at troubleshooting technical questions (regarding donor and grantee online portals) both internally and externally and managing inquiries.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and the ability to effectively learn and utilize additional technology systems used by MCF. 
•    Competence using web-based cloud technologies (such as Salesforce) to complete a grant-making workflow.
•    Demonstrate excellent organizational and prioritization skills, efficiently managing daily tasks, multiple requests, and projects, while handling long-term assignments.
•    Excellent customer service and communication skills encompassing listening, interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written abilities for multiple and diverse audiences.
•    Proficient writing, editing, and proofreading skills coupled with the ability to gather and organize information effectively.
•    Exhibit a high degree of professionalism, judgment, and flexibility, enabling effective collaboration with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a team environment. Capable of cultivating and sustaining positive working relationships with Foundation staff, community members, elected officials, the media, colleagues in other foundations, and members of the nonprofit sector.
•    Ability to quickly adapt to learning and using new technology as needed.
•    Exhibit a strong commitment to personal and professional integrity and uphold high ethical standards.

Compensation & Benefits:
·    The Grants Manager role is a full-time, exempt position with full health benefits (including medical, vision and dental), 403(b) retirement plan with an employer contribution of 12%, life and disability insurance, and generous time off and other benefits. 
·    Salary Range: $102,000-$112,000
·    Location: this a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week onsite.
