President & CEO
Combining his clinical and philanthropic careers, Dr. Peters is in his twenty-third year as MCF’s President & CEO. Heading one of the largest community foundations in the country, he is a leading national voice for community philanthropy, advocating and facilitating the dedication of private resources for the public good. During these years, he has served in state and national leadership positions in the field, and written on a broad range of issues. Prior to joining the Foundation, Dr. Peters had a 24-year career as a county public health official. He served in the San Francisco Department of Public Health from 1974-1990, including eight years as Chief of Staff, and was Director of the Marin County Health & Human Services Department from 1991-1998. He received his doctorate from the University of Minnesota, and for three years was a Fellow of the National Institutes of Health.

Chief Communications Officer
Vikki joined MCF in 2013 with a career in marketing, advertising, and branding agencies in the U.S. and internationally. She has crafted brand strategies and communications for companies spanning a variety of industries, including technology, financial services, communications, energy, and nonprofits. She received a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with a major in marketing, from the University of New South Wales in her hometown of Sydney, Australia.

VP for Information Technology
Laura joined MCF in 2006. Prior to MCF she gained more than 20 years of for-profit experience, including 15 years with IBM in sales, consulting and business development management and with several companies in finance and accounting positions. Laura is a CPA (inactive) and received her B.S. and M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business, U.C. Berkeley.

Chief Financial & Operating Officer
Sid joined the Foundation in 1997 as Vice President for Finance and Administration and in 2008 assumed his current position. For the prior 11 years, Sid was Vice President, Finance and Administration at the Minneapolis Foundation. He has also held various positions, including executive director, at the Challenge Center in Wisconsin, which served developmentally disabled adults and infants. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin.

VP of Community Engagement
Johnathan joined MCF in early 2016, initially in the role of Special Assistant to the President, and soonafter segueing to Vice President for Community Engagement. He brings a wide range of skills, with 11 years of local government and community development leadership experience. He has served on various non-profit and local government boards and commissions. Johnathan is a National Urban Fellow and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Master’s in Public Administration Degree from City University of New York, Baruch College.

Vice President for Human Resources
Saul joined MCF in 2017 with more than 20 years of HR experience in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Prior to joining MCF, Saul was a Partner and HR Consultant at ABD SharedHR. Prior to that, he served in various HR capacities at the Stupski Foundation, Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Macy’s West, Scient, and INROADS. He chaired the Board of Directors for the Northern California Human Resources Association and currently serves on the Achieve Mission Board of Directors. He is fluent in Spanish and English. He received BA from Pomona College and his MBA from University of San Francisco.

Vice President for Finance
Lauren joined MCF in 2019, bringing over ten years of experience from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP within their Assurance practice. She has a deep understanding of financial reporting, control environments and financial systems. Lauren is a Certified Public Accountant and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics, with an emphasis in Accounting, from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

VP for Philanthropic Partnerships
Alix joined MCF in 1995 as director of donor services. She has 30 years of nonprofit experience in management, fundraising, grantmaking, and marketing. She is an alumna of the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a degree in psychology, and has an MBA in marketing from Fordham University. Alix's work with nonprofits focused primarily in the area of education.
