Applying for a Grant

Helping you help our community

The Marin Community Foundation offers the following grants programs, all of which benefit the residents of Marin County, California:

NEW: Discretionary Grants

As described in its 2008 Strategic Plan, the Marin Community Foundation now makes discretionary grants to support efforts in Marin County in two ways: through Strategic Initiatives and through Community Grants.

Strategic Initiatives involve, besides grants, a range of activities, including public education, advocacy, meetings of key players, research, etc. Grants will be made through RFPs that will be issued to prospective partners in these efforts. There will not be an open competitive grants process. Further information will be posted as it becomes available.

Community Grants
, which support a range of issues within specific goals, are made primarily through a competitive grants process, using MCF’s new online Grant Application Center. For the first time, we are asking applicants to submit proposals by a certain date, based on the area in which your organization is working. More.

Stinson/Bolinas Community Fund

This is a field-of-interest fund at MCF, created by a group of local residents to provide small grants to individuals and organizations whose initiatives benefit the Stinson Beach and Bolinas communities. The donors who created this fund act as the fund's advisors, recommending which projects should be supported by this community effort. More.
