The MCF exhibition for Jean-Marc Brugeilles is his first major exhibition in America including over eighty artworks. From Lyon, France and now living in Marin County, Brugeilles is truly unique, not only in his artistic vision, but also in his techniques. He makes his paint and canvases by hand, using recipes from Medieval times, yet his paintings have a modern whimsy. In vivid color, each painting has a story. Some paintings have a surreal quality because he is inspired by dreams. He is also inspired by daily life, by poetry, and now also by the beauty of California. Brugeilles’ imagination seems limitless, so that every painting is a surprise.
